A dramatic pirate portrait engraved on mammoth ivory by Jim Adams
This Jim Adams pirate scrimshaw shows a weathered pirate in close portrait, eyes narrowed and face creased, with a ship's timbers and rigging behind him. The scene is engraved on a rugged section of mammoth ivory, its bark-like outer surface left in place, and mounted on a polished wood base.
Adams is known for expressive, dramatic scrimshaw, and this piece shows his skill with shading and texture. It is a bold statement piece for collectors of pirate and maritime art.
