Product Description
A plain mammoth ivory mortgage button with a warm, aged glow
This plain mammoth ivory mortgage button is a smooth disc of mammoth ivory, about 1 1/8 inches across, with a raised rim and the warm cream tone of ancient ivory. It is the most traditional choice for marking a paid-off home.
The mortgage button, known in the South as the brag button, was set into the newel post at the foot of the stairs to show that the house was free of liens. This plain button leaves the surface unengraved, or it can serve as the start of a custom piece. Because each is custom work, the price shown is a deposit, and the final total may be higher.
