Exquisite hand made miniature Nantucket Basket by Diane Kim England on Nantuket ca 1980. Kim first wove a miniature backet in wire then with the lost wax method make a cast from the woven giving great detail both inside and outside. The basket is 18kt with the tiny heart and the peg in 14kt gold. The tiny knobs on the handle are turned elephant ivory. Finally the lid is set with a blue sapphire cabochon stone.
She signs her work on the botton DKE 18kt 3/200. This is the third basket in a 200 piece production, a very rare piece. 1/2"
