These beautiful bottle stoppers feature original scrimshaw designs by our owner and resident artist, Brian Kiracofe. Brian etches the design onto the woolly mammoth ivory and then uses ink to reveal his creation. This is the practice of scrimshaw and it began many years ago on whaling ships. Most of Brian’s designs are very nautical as a reference to the origin of scrimshaw, but he can create just about any design you can think of.
