This 14K gold woven Nantucket basket pendant was made by Bill Gould of the American Scrimshaw Company in Boston. The miniature basket is woven in 14K gold and topped with a lid of authentic scrimshaw on ivory, with a small penny tucked inside.
In keeping with tradition, the inside bottom is stamped with the Nantucket basket poem, a verse long associated with the island's baskets. The pendant hangs from a 30-inch 14K gold chain, ready to wear as an heirloom.
