Product Description
Two humpback whales engraved on walrus tusk by the late Salmon Rashidi
This whale pair scrimshaw on walrus tusk shows two humpback whales gliding side by side along the length of a natural tusk section. It is the work of the late Salmon Rashidi, and it measures 6 by 1 inches.
Rashidi shaded the whales with fine stippling and line work, capturing the long pectoral fins and textured bodies of the humpback. The rough, natural end of the tusk is left in place, and the warm color of the walrus ivory frames the pair. As the work of an artist no longer creating, it is a meaningful piece for collectors.
