Product Description
A plated money clip with hand-engraved scrimshaw by Brian Kiracofe
This scrimshaw money clip sets an oval of repurposed piano key ivory into a plated clip, available in silver or gold tone. Each ivory is etched by hand and inked by Brian Kiracofe, owner and resident artist at Scrimshanders.
Scrimshaw began on whaling ships, where sailors engraved whale's teeth to pass the long months at sea. Kiracofe carries that tradition forward with sixteen designs, from the Coast Guard barque Eagle and tall ships to lighthouses, a shamrock, and a skull and crossbones. The clip measures 2 by 1 inch, slim enough for any pocket.
