This red Ata basket purse is an 8-inch round bag hand woven from Indonesian ata vine and dyed a deep, rich red. A looped closure at the top and a long shoulder strap make it an easy crossbody bag.
Like all Ata baskets, it is woven from split vine, sun dried, and smoked over coconut husks before finishing, then lined with batik cotton. The red dye brings out the texture of the weave for a bold, handmade look.
