Scrimshanders International Scrimshaw Competition began in the Mystic store in June of 2002. Barbara Cullen, owner of Mystic Scrimshanders, began the event to educate the public about Scrimshaw around the world and also to help support this old art form. It is currently the only competition of its kind in the United States.

This year will be our 9th Competition.  Opening night festivities will take place on September 25 and the show will remain on display until October 8. Please call Barbara at 401-294-2262, or email at mysticscrimshaw1@juno.com  for an invitation to opening night reception.
